Thinking Through Things is a philosophical investigation into the stuff and the conventions we live with.
Through conversation we unfold narratives held in our possessions and the surrounding environment. We transform the stories embedded in everyday items into poetic reflections. Thinking Through Things is an art service, a collaborative experience between the audience and the (performers)
We invest and are invested in people and place, manifested in things that accompany us, for example in the form of a piece of furniture, a photograph or a recurring thought.
As custodians of things, we find ourselves embedded, even captivated in memories, sentiments, intentions and longings that we value.
Thinking Through Things honours everyday objects and encounters that we care about, these essential pieces of meaning that hold our life together.
We acknowledge that we create on Peramangk and Kaurna Yarta. We pay respect to Elders past, present and future and through them to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We respectfully honour their spiritual relationship with country.
We are a small team established to deliver tailored exquisite art experiences.
In these participatory art experiences the audience is invited to share their stories and in exchange take away an unexpected story.
The interaction is constructed to be both fun and thought provoking. Together we think through things, the basis for better understanding eachother and the world around us.
